De dónde vengo
Every circuit needs a power source. Mine is my family. I was born in Miami to two immigrant parents from Uruguay. Most of my family still lives in Uruguay and I spent a large portion of my childhood there. I am so lucky to have them. Their love fuels more than even the light of the sun fuels life on earth.

Two countries, one family
I grew up speaking English at school and Spanish at home, with school years in the United States and my entire 3 month summer break in Uruguay. Moving between the two taught me many things, one of which being translation. Between languages, between cultures, and eventually between disciplines. Allowing me to be the physicist that I am today and the engineer that I hope to become tomorrow.
Never scared to ask
Being first generation means nobody hands you a map. You learn to ask questions early, to read everything, and to build things you were never shown how to build. I am never scared to ask questions and never scared to admit when I do not know something. I was the first to raise my hand in class, in school and in college, whenever I had a question. At first the pretentious physics students scoffed and laughed, but that never hindered me. I am a quick learner and I am curious about everything. My curiosity and need to learn is what drove me towards physics, and it is exactly how I work at a lab bench: when a setup misbehaves, I ask it questions with my hands, one probe and one test at a time, until it answers. Building the instruments myself is what pulled me toward engineering.
